On November 4, 2019, the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau of the FCC released a public notice seeking comment on a petition filed by Sorenson Communications, LLC requesting clarification or waiver of certain video relay service (VRS) and direct video calling (DVC) rules, including:
The removal of data from the Telecommunications Relay Service User Registration Database for any user who has neither placed nor received a VRS or point-to-point call in a one-year period;
Clarification of certain aspects of the per-call validation function of the TRS Numbering Directory; and
Guidance on DVC implementation.
