May Meeting: 10 am on Saturday, May 18

Our monthly chapter meetings are 10 am on the third Saturday each month. They are open forums where attendees can discuss the topics that impact them, including supports around hearing aids and cochlear implants, assistive technology, advocacy, and communication.
This month, on May 18th, we will first take a few minutes to elect chapter board members and then we will have plenty of time to talk about any issues or concerns you have about your hearing loss and we can be a group to provide information and ideas.
For our board elections, we invite anyone who is interested in helping our chapter continue to thrive to consider being a part of our board. Four of our current board members will run for another term: Mark Foster as President, Gayle Couture as our Secretary, and Judy Barnes and Erica Patino as board-members-at large. This year we need a new Treasurer to replace Stephen Brier who will retire (and spend more time at his beach property, as he should!) We thank Stephen so much for his valuable service to our organization since 2011.
Every Chapter Board member needs to be an HLAA member in good standing, meaning that before their first board meeting they are current on their annual dues with our parent organization, Hearing Loss Association of America. (Click on "Become a member" at the top of this linked page to join. Note: Membership dues will increase on July 1st.)
As chapter treasurer, you would be responsible for depositing money into our bank account, writing checks for operating expenses and reimbursements, ongoing updating of our checkbook, accounting for our income and expenses (a few hundred $ per year), and for providing the board with regular reports of current balances and recent income/expenses. As our current treasurer, Stephen Brier, has said, " if you can balance a checkbook, you are more than qualified for this position! ".

We can't do this without you!
Our meetings are open to anyone affected by hearing loss -- their own or that of a loved one. Attendees are encouraged to bring any assistive technology that they use to share with the group. Look forward to seeing you!
We meet at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, NW 22nd at Marshall Street. We currently meet in the 2nd floor Conference Room in Building 2, 1040 NW 22nd Avenue. The meeting room changes from time to time, so be sure to get on our email list to be notified of the location each month.
