Duties & Responsibilities

This position is in the Long Term Services Section within Aging and People with Disabilities. This section is responsible for ensuring that individuals accessing ongoing supports from the state are served in an equitable and respectful manner. This section also supports the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities to ensure that all state government is accessible to their needs.

The primary purpose of this position it to coordinate interpreters for clients that are members of the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing communities. This position presents information to state agency staff and the public to help them understand the needs of these communities. The person monitors the program outcomes, evaluates results, and recommends program improvements. The person will work closely with the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard-of-Hearing and interpreter communities to develop processes that improve access.
