Survey for those Deaf who did not vote during Election 2016

My name is Jehanne McCullough. I am a Government major and Honors student at Gallaudet University. I am conducting a study on reasons why some Deaf people did not vote in the 2016 presidential election. I also want to find out whether more ASL resources in certain areas would encourage more Deaf people to vote in future elections. Some examples of ASL resources include ASL videos on candidates' positions and an ASL hotline on videophone to help Deaf people resolve their voting issues. These may make the voting process more convenient for Deaf people.

I am seeking participants, specifically Deaf people who did not vote in the 2016 election. The survey only has seven questions and should take less than five minutes to complete. All questions, and multiple-choice answers are given both in American Sign Language (ASL) videos and English text. The link to this survey is

It will be wonderful if your organization can help spread the word and urge Deaf non-voters to participate in this important, brief survey. Your members' participation in this study will create a valuable contribution to the research on Deaf people's participation in politics. Hopefully, this will help improve ASL election resources that are needed to give Deaf people more equal opportunities to participate in the American political process.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Jehanne McCullough
