Oregon Adaptive Sports exists to provide life-changing outdoor recreation experiences to individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities and, concurrently, to provide their families with the education and skills to enjoy these experiences together. Through participation in Oregon Adaptive Sports’ programs, participants, athletes and families gain confidence and independence, build self-esteem, meet positive role models and enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

We envision a day when everyone has the opportunity to experience the exhilaration and benefits of outdoor activities, regardless of physical ability.  We strive to offer adaptive sports programs year-round. Our programs are based in Central Oregon (Mt. Bachelor, Hoodoo Ski Resort, Deschutes River, and more) and activties range from adaptive skiing, snowboarding, golf, kayaking, cycling and more.  Our specialized equipment and innovative techniques provide opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy the great outdoors.  OAS goal is to nurture the human spirit and foster self-confidence.

The individuals taking advantage of OAS services have a range of disabilities including visual impairments, deaf and hard of hearing, amputations, cerebral palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, spina bifida, developmental disabilities, paraplegia, quadriplegia, and many more. Individuals with a permanent or long-term physical or neurological disability who require use of adaptive equipment and/or adaptive teaching techniques can participate.

OAS occasionally offers special events for people who are deaf and hard of hearing.  (i.e. Snow Camp for teenagers who are deaf & hoh, disc golf clinics, and more)
